For those interested in walking Derrbehy House is located just off The Miners Way. This is a network of way-marked routes through the stunning landscape of hills and valleys of Counties Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon. This route can be done in sections and Mary can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your next location.
Lough Allen
Just across from Derrbehy House is Lough Allen, one of the largest lakes on the River Shannon and is popular for anglers. It’s mixed fishery and noted for pike but there are many other species there too.
Drumshanbo
The town of Drumshanbo in County Leitrim is just a six-minute drive away. Drumshanbo is home to Ireland’s first floating boardwalk, at the magical Acres Lake. During the summer you can enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool. Also check out the visitor centre to find out more about the area. Be sure to explore the Blueway which runs from Acres Lake to Carrick-on-Shannon, you can go by foot, pedal, or paddle. Moorlands Equestrian Centre are a family run horse riding centre that caters for all ages, you can experience the Lough Allen scenery by horseback.
